Day 32, PM: It may look installed, but it's not. It is, rather, "in place." All I get is the contractor's voice mail, so I will go to bed wondering whether this will work or fail.
Tomorrow is supposed to be kitchen counter day. Without the downdraft vent properly installed, the counters can't go in.
In the meantime, boxes are starting to come in, indicating it is really time for the contractor to start moving out so I can start moving back in.
