Black bean soup



An hour from beginning to end. Beans, bacon, carrots, onion, tomatoes, garlic, stock, cilantro and lime.



And spices. This time Hungarian paprika, chipotle chili powder, red pepper flakes.



Brown the bacon...



Add carrot, onion and tomatoes and spices....and then garlic.



Add stock, half of the beans...




And the cilantro. Simmer 20 minutes.



Puree the whole pot of stuff, in a couple of batches. Return to pan.



Add the rest of the beans and lots of lime juice.



Soup slowly gets dark brown as the air (from blender) cooks out. Thin with stock until just right.



Black bean soup. Lunch!
