Steak Diane

Steak Diane is a lot like beef stroganoff, only with one big steak instead of little bites.

A sirloin, mushrooms, shallots, garlic, parsley and cognac...

Everything chopped, sliced and diced ahead of time and ready to go...

The sirloin just seared and then set aside...

In with some butter, the shallots and mushrooms...

Then the garlic, along with a bit of Dijon mustard and a splash of Worcestershire sauce.

And then some vegetable stock, and left on low heat to simmer a spell...

Then a healthy chug of Cognac and set ablaze...

And some cream added...

Along with some parsley at the last minute...

Steaks returned to sauce and simmered until done the way you like them...

We'll take ours medium rare please...

Steak Diane. Dinner.
