Asparagus...Quiche? Tart? Pizza?



I meant to make a kind of asparagus tart. But it ended up being something of a hybrid.



Tart pan...



Good puff pastry.



Eggs, Gruyere cheese, sour cream.



All mixed up with a healthy dose of chives.



Pan bottom buttered, buttered side down on the pastry...



Cut to fit and put back in place...



Asparagus on top of pastry, eggy, cheesy creamy stuff poured over.



A little extra cheese on top...



Baked until set. An asparagus Quitarzza.

  1. This looks wonderful, Jeff! I bought some asparagus (Costco trip? NO RESISTANCE!) yesterday and am considering fresh shaved asparagus pizza. I found a recipe (http://bit.ly/ea3tna). But I truly love barely cooked springtime asparagus. Have you tried asparagus pizza?
