Spaghetti and meat balls

One onion, a third of it diced, the rest of it chopped.

A slice of baguette ripped up (then run through a blender), parsley and garlic.

Add to ground beef with cheese and an egg.

Mix it up...

And make meat balls.

Brown them in a good amount of olive oil.

Two cans of crushed tomatoes, mushrooms, the rest of the onion, more garlic and basil. (Thai basil this time.)

While meat balls brown, cook down the onion and mushrooms, then add garlic.

Run tomatoes briefly through blender, add to pot. Add basil and a healthy splash of red wine.

Put meat balls in sauce and simmer for awhile.

Spaghetti and meat balls. (I do get mileage out of $2 worth of parsley every week.)

  1. nice parsley touch!
you know when you get take out from the pizzeria down the street and you get that hunka bread, just because. I throw those in a freezer bag to use at a later time for meatballs. that's my tip of the day!

  2. That looks yummy! I'm going to make your meatballs this weekend, but I'm going to add a small piece of fresh mozzarella inside each meatball.
